The Knife & Fork Club of Houston is a social club that meets six
times a year for dinner, guest speakers, humor, current events and
educational topics.
We trace our origin to “The Order of the Good
Time” founded in North America by Samuel de Champlain and his
merchant adventurer friends in 1606 at Port Royal Habitation in Nova
Scotia.
Our current membership includes variety of professionals
from the Houston area such as space explorers from NASA, geologists,
physicians, realtors, attorneys and a few judges to keep an eye on
the lawyers.
Although we are an eclectic group, we adhere to the
objectives of our founders, one of which was to engage in illuminating
discussion at a good dinner with our friends. We are frequently stimulated
by good speakers who are warned that they should expect challenge
from our opinionated and articulate members.
Our black tie dinners are held at the Lakeside Country
Club. Members pay an annual fee of $100.00 (one hundred dollars) to
cover operating expenses and speakers' fees, and members pay for food
and drink only when attending the meeting.
